The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), is a regional group of fifteen West African countries, founded in 1975. Its mission is to promote economic integration in all fields of economic activity, particularly industry, transport, telecommunications, energy, agriculture, natural resources, commerce, monetary and financial questions as well as social and cultural matters

In January 2007, The Secretariat of ECOWAS, headquarters in Abuja, was transformed into a Commission to be headed by a president, assisted by a Vice President and seven Commissioners, with twenty-seven Directorates to be lead by Directors, implementing programmes aligned with the organization’s objectives. As part of this integration process, ECOWAS is currently engaged in the implementation of a series of critical and strategic programmes, for ­which it wishes to recruit qualified and capable nationals of ECOWAS member-states into the following positions:

Our client, a reputable company in the hay production business with over 12,000 membership from small scale farmers and more than a 1,000 acres of plantation field is looking to fill the position of a Farm Machine Driver who will report to the Farm Manager.
Salary: KShs. 15,000 – 20,000
Job Purpose/Summary:
The Farm Machine Driver shall be responsible driving farm machines, undertaking maintenance of farm machines and cleaning and servicing of all farm machines for the Farm.
The farm machines will include tractors, combine harvesters among others.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive the assigned farm machines(s), ensuring the safety of all staff and self/or authorized passengers.
  • Ensure that the machine(s) is equipped with first aid kit. Check expiry date for consumables in the kit and seek replacement as appropriate.
  • Ensure the machine(s) are clean and in good working order.
  • Perform minor routine machine(s) repairs and servicing.
  • Make deliveries to authorized destinations.
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confident
Required Qualifications
  • KCSE with minimum grade C+.
  • Valid driver’s licence with minimum class BCE with at least 2 years continuous driving experience.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in driving farm machines

Qualifications and Other Requirements
  • A candidate to be appointed as lecturer II shall normally possess a PhD, in addition to possessing at least a Second Class Honors (Upper Division) Degree in the relevant field.
  • A candidate who has an M.Phil, qualification may be appointed as Lecturer II provided the candidate has a substantial number of publications as well as adequate teaching experience in the University.

Salary Package
Salary and allowances which are personal and negotiable are higher than Federal Government-consolidated unitary salary structure. Salary increment is based on productivity and contribution to the development of the University. The university also offers additional beneficial packages to staff.

Retirement and Pension Scheme.
The University operates a contributory Pension Fund as enacted by the Act of the National Assembly. It is mandatory for all staff to take part in the contributory pension scheme. The University shall pay 7 ½ percent of the staff’s monthly basic salary to the pension fund while the staff shall pay 7 ½ percent towards the fund.
A staff shall not be hindered by the University from drawing from the pension scheme.

Oxfam Kenya is engaging in the great changes taking place in Kenya including the devolution of government, preparation for peaceful elections, the discovery of Oil in the Arid Lands and the expansion of informal urban settlements.
Oxfam in Kenya works in Turkana, Dadaab, Wajir and the Nairobi informal settlements as well as on national level governance and coordination issues in multi stakeholder fora.

A new and exciting position in Oxfam Kenya’s programme, created to ensure greater impact for the country’s most marginalised people through the strengthening and strategic leadership of Oxfam Kenya’s National Pillars – advocacy, governance, peace building, climate change and private sector engagement interventions (including work within the Oil and Gas sector).
S/he will also be responsible for the management of one of Oxfam’s leading Urban programmes during the six month leave of absence of the Urban Programme Manager.
Reporting to the Country Director, the post holder is a member of the Senior Management Team and will have the ambitious task of ensuring Oxfam and its partners become leading advocates, catalysts and innovators for change; ensuring greater balance between these aspects of our programme and our longer term service delivery and capacity building work.
Supporting the success of the programme strategy will include helping to ensure the financial viability of these programmes, including donor liaison, contract management, budget oversight and the identification of funding opportunities from new and existing partners.
The NPC will manage 3 national advisors, enabling them to maximise their contribution to the quality and development of the broader Kenya and regional programme.
The post holder will ensure that Oxfam Kenya follows a one-programme approach; adding value to our long term development work supporting the Kenya Advocacy Advisor in developing and implementing our campaigns and collaborating with the Humanitarian Advisor to strengthen our emergency preparedness and response. and individual campaigns, develop an enabling environment for the Urban Programme to progress from its pilot phase to a leader in its field both within Oxfam’s Global work and in Kenya.
S/he will be expected to represent Oxfam’s programmes nationally and internationally with Government, UN agencies, other NGOs, donors and Oxfam International.
To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes: the imagination and experience to recognise the enormous potential present in Kenya’s civil society, urban communities and private sector; the ambition and imagination to work within the decentralisation process to help realise that potential for the benefit of Kenya’s most marginalised populations; and a commitment to social and economic justice.
You will also possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, have substantial experience of managing humanitarian and development programmes of a significant size, have proven fundraising skills and demonstrate high-level strategic, analytical and conceptual ability.
You will demonstrate a record of delivering strategic chance within specific timeframes, experience of integrating gender and diversity into programme work and experience of proposal writing and donor reporting, budgeting and performance management.
You will have an ability to respond to and identify opportunities arising from events and longer term trends and proven experience in building successful advocacy/popular mobilisation campaigns with partners and demonstrable courage in embracing innovation and difficult change are highly valued.
